Key new features in Kling 4.0
Native videos up to ~30 seconds
Instead of stitching short clips together, Kling 4.0 generates up to ~30 seconds in one pass, keeping characters and settings consistent — ideal for story-driven videos.
Up to 10 keyframes
Specify the opening, middle and ending with up to 10 keyframes, so you can show the model exactly how the scene should progress.
Omni Reference with up to 15 references
Combine up to 10 images, 5 videos and 7 elements (saved characters, products and more) — 15 references in total — to keep the look consistent across shots.
Stereo audio and multilingual accents
Generate stereo audio together with the video, with dialogue in multiple languages and accents, plus music and sound effects.
Prompts up to ~8,000 tokens
Write scene-by-scene directions, camera moves and dialogue in a single prompt — close to a full storyboard.
4K and 21:9 cinematic output
Output at 720p, 1080p or 4K, including the 21:9 cinemascope ratio — great for ads, music videos and big-screen content.

What Kling 4.0 is good for
- Ads & product videos: Build a multi-shot 30-second spot while keeping your product consistent with element references.
- Music videos & short dramas: Direct the story with keyframes and add stereo audio.
- Social videos: Pick the aspect ratio for each platform and produce 1080p clips quickly.
- Pre-visualization: Paste a full script into a long prompt to share your vision before the shoot.
Kling 4.0 prompting tips
- Write in this order: subject → action → camera movement → mood & lighting → sound.
- For 30-second videos, split the prompt into time ranges ("0–10s", "10–20s"…) for a stable progression.
- To keep a character or product consistent, use reference images (elements) rather than long descriptions.
- For dialogue, state who speaks, in which language, and in what tone.
Example prompt
0–10s: At dawn, a woman in a kimono walks slowly along a stone-paved street in Kyoto; the camera dollies behind her. 10–20s: She turns and smiles — close-up, soft morning light. 20–30s: The camera rises to reveal the misty townscape from above. Gentle koto music and birdsong. Cinematic, 21:9.
